Forever Begins at Fenton Tower: Andrew and Isabel’s Intimate Wedding Celebration
Alongside serving as exclusive-use accommodation, Fenton Tower often plays host to one of life’s most significant celebrations: weddings!
Fenton Tower is set up to host weddings large and small. When you choose us as your East Lothian wedding venue, every corner of our estate is yours to enjoy in complete privacy.
In this blog, we are delighted to introduce Andrew and Isabel, who celebrated their love with a joyful and sentimental wedding at Fenton Tower.
With 30 of their closest friends and family in attendance, Andrew and Isabel’s wedding was elegant yet intimate.
Andrew and Isabel’s wedding represented the maximum number of guests for a wedding ceremony within the Tower – although this number can be increased to 50 attendees to incorporate evening reception guests. Those wishing to throw a larger party can invite up to 300 people to join them in a specially erected marquee in our grounds.
Isabel and Andrew wanted every aspect of the day to feel informal and unruffled – so our Great Hall – with a striking stately fireplace – provided the perfect backdrop for their ceremony.
Andrew looked dapper waiting at the altar, with his bespoke kilt traditionally designed and handcrafted by Auld Alliance Kiltmaker in Edinburgh. Our preferred supplier, Lottie Longman, designed a stunning seasonal bouquet that perfectly matched the floral embroidery on Isobel’s wedding dress.
Once heartfelt vows were exchanged and a few tears shed, the happy couple moved outside to take stunning photos in our expansive grounds. The weather simply couldn’t have been better, with glorious sunshine and big blue skies as the perfect companions for every shot. Luckily, Love Wedding Photos and Film were on hand to capture every moment across the day.
A relaxed drinks reception followed, with canapes including spiced sweetcorn polenta fritters and haggis bon bons whetting the appetite for a feast prepared by our long-term catering partner, The Edinburgh Catering Company.
The wedding breakfast was carefully curated to showcase Andrew and Isabel’s love of the finest seasonal Scottish produce.
Hand-dived scallops, local asparagus, beef, and halibut took centre stage, and the delicious dessert options included a salted caramel tart or mango and white chocolate bavarois. Of course, our atmospheric candlelit dining room was suitably styled to mark the occasion with timeless style.
To maintain a ‘house party’ feel, Isabel and Andrew chose not to have evening entertainment, and instead spent quality time with their loved ones in Fenton Tower’s cosy communal spaces.
As the night progressed, the relaxed atmosphere made way for laughter to echo through every room as unforgettable new memories were made.
When asked about their experience of hosting their special day at Fenton Tower, Andrew and Isabel said:
“When you start to plan a wedding, everything can feel overwhelming and you worry what the day will be like. However, as soon as we found Fenton Tower and started to plan our day with Alan, the preparations became fun and we felt confident that we had found the right place.
Alan’s suggestions were immensely helpful. Lottie Longman’s flowers were enchanting, from my bouquet to the floral archway, each placement was like a work of art. Liggy’s Cakes created a beautiful (and delicious!) cake. Love Wedding Photos and Film captured every moment perfectly, and the food from The Edinburgh Catering Company was exceptional. Andrew could not stop eating haggis bon bons.
Alan, Claire and the rest of the team gave our guests staying onsite a warm welcome when we arrived the night before the wedding, and on the day itself everything happened as if by magic. From Alan’s calming presence before the ceremony to Claire putting my bouquet in water after the meal, we were touched by how well both we and our guests were looked after. All the thoughtful details made our day perfect.
Months later, our friends and family still say what a special wedding it was. We could not be happier that we chose Fenton Tower!”
Thank you, Isabel and Andrew, for choosing Fenton Tower to be the backdrop for the beginning of your new chapter. The whole team wishes you a lifetime of happiness together.
