Read on to learn more about how special a shooting holiday with us can be!

The Must-Know Details

Regarded as one of the finest shooting estates in Scotland, Fenton Brunt Estate lies on the edge of the Lammermuir Hills near Dunbar – just twenty minutes away from Fenton Tower.

Despite our rural location, we are just five minutes off the A1 motorway and a mere 38 miles / 45 minutes from Edinburgh Airport by car.

We offer driven partridge and pheasant shooting days between September and January annually, and a total of nine guns for your party to use. Your bag size is typically 250 – although this can be adjusted.

An Unforgettable Location

When you choose Fenton Brunt Estate for your shooting holiday in Scotland, some of the Scottish Lowlands’ most sensational scenery serves as a backdrop for your day.

Our eclectic topography provides a variety of challenging drive experiences, all of which are easily accessible by vehicle with an easy walk to your peg.

Steep-sided glens for shooting high fast birds, low-level wooded areas, two sensational lochs, and wide open spaces combine to provide over 20 drives for you to choose from, ensuring an excellent day’s sport that challenges even the most experienced shooters.

Naturally, the weather can get a bit gusty, and we can never guarantee the conditions you will be walking into. But really, that’s all part of the fun!

A Highly-Experienced Team

Perhaps as important as the shoot itself, is the expert guidance you receive during every drive.

Throughout each stage of the day, our team will be on hand to guide your shoot and create the best possible experience.

Our gamekeeper, Richard Knaggs, alongside his team of beaters and dog-handlers, has been with us at Fenton Brunt since 2002. Richard’s wealth of experience is invaluable in developing and maintaining high-quality and challenging partridge and pheasant shooting experiences.

No two shoot days are ever the same…

…but here is a taster of what shooting at Fenton Brunt Club will entail.

Your experience begins with a warm welcome at Fenton Brunt Cottage, where your friendly host will serve up hot morning coffee as you choose your pegs. A short safety briefing will then follow.

The cottage has been newly refurbished and is beautifully appointed with a modern gun room, adjacent shower room, gun rack, and ample space to dry wellies and shoot coats over lunch.

You will then be escorted to begin your first drive. Elevenses will be served to break up your morning shooting, and later a hearty lunch in the clubhouse will provide a welcome reprieve and a chance to recap the day so far.

Our dining table can be extended to seat larger groups, so you are more than welcome to invite additional guests for lunch.

You will then head back out with your group for an exciting afternoon of sport, before returning to the cottage once more for afternoon tea and game cards. Depending on the elements you’ve experienced, you may choose to warm up and relax for a while in front of our crackling log fire!

Depending on the bag size booked, you should expect to shoot between five and six drives across your day with us.

Once your exhilarating shoot has concluded, we will transport you back to Fenton Tower, where a delectable banquet can await your group. Toast to a successful day and then, depending on the trip you have booked, settle in for a restful night’s sleep so you’re ready to do it all over again!

If this sample itinerary isn’t quite enough to whet your appetite…

In December 2023, we had the pleasure of welcoming Jean-Paul Gaudin – known as The Seated Gun on social media – to Fenton Brunt during his expedition around Scotland.

His subsequent video on YouTube helps to showcase just how complex, exhilarating, and ultimately satisfying a day shooting with us can be.
